Modular transmission
For this project, ALTEN partnered with a designer and producer of transmission and a major global vehicle manufacturer. Our team of ALTEN consultants was involved in an R&D project for the development of a modular transmission allowing the hybridisation of a vehicle. The e-motor and associated inverter are directly embedded in the transmission and can be either 15 kW for MHEV, or 92 kW for PHEV, thus the mandatory modularity. The innovation lies in the high degree of mechatronics function integration in those transmissions. ALTEN ACTIVITIES
- Requirement management, keeping up-to-date requirements with coordination activities with the supplier and the customer
- Prepare overall tests: writing of test specifications and test criteria for sub-system validation and characterisation
- Perform verification activities and review test data files: analysis of data using CANapee and Matlab
- Design rationale; follow and justification of any control and embedded software design modification and analysis of impact on the system and project
- Supplier and customer interface for mechatronics sub-system problematics, and embedded system problematics
- Homologation test definition and follow up
- Issue management and data analysis on efficiency, thermal, performance and control, and software issues
- End Of Line overview on e-motor acceptance test sequence
